Light Ladd & Emberton
First collaborating in 2014, Light, Ladd & Emberton is a collective of three of Wales’ leading independent dance artists - Deborah Light, Eddie Ladd and Gwyn Emberton. Drawing on history and identity, predominantly of Wales, the company creates culturally engaged and uncompromisingly experimental productions on contemporary themes that have relevance to and resonate with audiences universally.
Commissioned for the Dylan Thomas Centenary by the National Library of Wales, CAITLIN charts the turbulent life of the famous poet’s wife. Alluding to the start of the1970s, when the widowed Caitlin started going to Alcoholics Anonymous, the audience sits in a circle with a woman revisiting and making a determined effort to deal with her tempestuous past. As Caitlin and Dylan drink, fight, love and leave each other, the unoccupied chairs become part of the action in a physical and powerful duet exploring relationships, addiction, jealousy and infidelity.

"A brilliant and overwhelming enactment… A ‘must see’ show, if you are strong enough to take it.” The Skinny
"Raw, visceral and at times, downright vulgar. There is a frenzied energy about this production that is utterly gripping.” Female Arts
